Monozukuri Ventures Holdings, Inc. (the “Company”) endeavors to maintain the trust of customers and other individuals by ensuring that information capable of identifying customers and other individuals (“Personal Information”) is appropriately protected, that each of its officers and employees takes responsibility for appropriate information management, and that this Privacy Policy functions effectively.

This Privacy Policy describes how the Company and its group companies, including Monozukuri Ventures Corporation and Monozukuri Ventures Inc., handle Personal Information.

1. Purposes of Use of Personal Information

The Company uses Personal Information for the following purposes:

  • To propose and provide services in connection with the Company’s consulting business, including manufacturing support, new business development support, marketing support, and back-office support;
  • To propose and provide services in connection with its investment business, including the formation of funds and other investment vehicles, investments, enhancement of the value of portfolio companies, investment recovery, and hands-on support;
  • To provide information regarding events, seminars, and other matters, and to operate such events and seminars;
  • To distribute email newsletters and other communications;
  • To conduct recruitment screening and manage personnel affairs after hiring;
  • To respond to inquiries;
  • For any other purposes specified at the time Personal Information is obtained.

2. Joint Use of Personal Data Within the Company Group

The Company jointly uses Personal Data with its group companies as described below.

      7. URLs viewed, dates and times of access, and other information regarding online behavior on the Company’s services

      3. To conduct recruitment screening and manage personnel affairs after hiring;
      4. To respond to inquiries.

  4. Party Responsible for the Management of Jointly Used Personal Data
    1. Monozukuri Ventures Holdings, Inc.

3. Outsourcing

The Company may outsource all or part of the handling of Personal Data to external service providers to the extent necessary for the performance of its business operations.

The Company exercises necessary and adequate supervision over such service providers.

4. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

As a general rule, the Company does not provide Personal Information to third parties without the consent of the individual concerned.

However, in addition to cases permitted by laws and regulations, the Company may provide Personal Information to third parties with the prior consent of the individual concerned as described below.

  2. Purposes of Provision to Third Parties

    The Company provides Personal Information to third parties within the scope of the following purposes:

    1. To plan and operate co-hosted events, seminars, and similar activities, and to respond to participants;
    2. To conduct collaborative activities, business alliances, and related business operations;
    3. To conduct investment consideration, post-investment support, and other investment-related operations of the Company Group;
    4. To comply with laws and regulations, or to respond to inquiries or requests from public authorities, industry associations, or similar organizations.
  3. Scope of Third-Party Recipients

    The scope of recipients to which the Company may provide Personal Information is as follows:

    1. Companies and organizations that co-host events or seminars;
    2. Companies with which the Company conducts collaborative activities or business alliances;
    3. Portfolio companies and companies under investment consideration;
    4. Consulting clients, industry associations, and public authorities.

      Where it is appropriate to specify the name of a particular company, the Company will provide individual notice at the time of provision.

  4. Method of Provision
    1. The Company may provide Personal Information to third parties by the following methods:
      1. Sending encrypted data by email;
      2. Uploading data to access-restricted shared folders, such as Google Drive;
      3. Other methods that ensure information security.
  5. Requests to Stop Provision to Third Parties

    The individual concerned may request, at any time, that the Company stop the provision of Personal Information to third parties. To request suspension of provision, please contact the “Contact for Inquiries Regarding Personal Information” below. After receiving such a request, the Company will promptly stop provision to third parties to a reasonable extent. This does not apply where provision is required under laws and regulations.

  6. Relationship with Joint Use and Outsourcing

    The handling of Personal Information in connection with Joint Use by the Company, including use among the Company Group companies, or outsourcing of business operations does not constitute “Provision of Personal Data to Third Parties” as prescribed in Article 27 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information. 5. Transfer of Personal Data to a Foreign Country

The Company may transfer Personal Data to the United States in the following cases:

  • Joint Use within the Company Group, including cases involving Monozukuri Ventures Inc.; and
  • Use of cloud services such as Google and AWS.

The recipients of such Personal Data take appropriate measures for the protection of Personal Information, and the Company exercises necessary supervision over them.

6. Use of Cookies and Other Identifiers

The Company may use cookies and other identifiers (collectively, “Cookies, etc.”) to understand the usage status of the Company’s websites and other services and to improve its services.

Information obtained through Cookies, etc. does not include information that identifies a specific individual, and is used to provide information according to users’ interests and preferences and to improve the functions of the Company’s websites.

The Company may use Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC, for access analysis. Information collected through Google Analytics is provided to Google and managed in accordance with Google’s privacy policy. Users may refuse to accept Cookies, etc. by changing their browser settings.

Please note that certain functions may not be available if Cookies, etc. are disabled.

7. Security Control Measures

The Company implements appropriate information security measures against unauthorized access, computer viruses, and other risks in order to prevent the loss, destruction, alteration, or leakage of Personal Information.

8. Requests for Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use, etc.

The individual concerned may request disclosure, correction, suspension of use, and other handling with respect to Personal Data the Company holds.
